It does this by providing clear leadership in setting strategy by overseeing managementâs implementation of strategy within a prudent and effective governance structure and ensuring that the RAK ICC culture is aligned to our purpose, values and strategy.
Our Board Members
Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, a member of the ruling family of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), is a board member and the Managing Director of RAKEZ.
As part of his leadership role with the company, Sheikh Mohammed chairs the Audit Committee of the three entitiesâ Board of Directors.
Sheikh Mohammed envisions a vibrant and successful future for RAKEZ, one in which the free zone contributes to the sustainable development of Ras Al Khaimahâs rapidly growing economy.
Sheikh Mohammed holds a Bachelorâs Degree in Finance from the American University of Sharjah.
Dr. Sameer Al Ansari is a highly experienced and qualified UK chartered accountant with over 30 years of senior corporate, operational, private equity investing, and strategic advisory experience.
Currently serving as the CEO at RAK Digital Assets Oasis (RAK DAO) and RAK International Corporate Centre (RAK ICC), Dr. Al Ansari has held several prominent positions throughout his illustrious career. He was the Vice Chairman and COO of The Industrial Group before joining RAK ICC, and until 2011, he was the CEO of SHUAA Capital, a publicly listed full-service investment bank.
Dr. Al Ansari has played a pivotal role in establishing Dubai Holding in 2004 and founded Dubai International Capital (âDICâ) where he served as its Executive Chairman and CEO, creating a global investment company with US$12 billion of assets under management. He has also previously served as Group CFO for The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai.
With his extensive knowledge and vast expertise, Dr. Al Ansari currently serves on several boards, including RAK ICC, Al Ramz Capital, TVM Healthcare Partners (GCC Healthcare Private Equity Fund), Eureeca Capital, and Marjan. He has also served on numerous regional and international boards such as the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) from 2004-2016.
Dr. Al Ansari is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a member of the Instituteâs advisory board for MENA. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Loughborough University for outstanding achievement and leadership in finance and was a visiting fellow at Oxford University Said Business School.
Ramy Jallad is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), one of the largest economic zones in the region. With over three decades in FDI attraction, business and industrial park development, award-winning customer experience, merger and acquisition, and A-Z digital transformation integration, he has significantly impacted the UAEâs economic development across various sectors.
Since starting at RAKEZ, he has been pivotal in multiplying its growth from 7,500 to over 21,000 companies. Ramy is renowned for his ability to build economic zones from the ground up, create innovative business environments and the right ecosystem that evolve organisations into successful multi-million-dollar powerhouses, and under his leadership thrives an aligned and engaged team of 460 multicultural professionals who are experts in their fields.
He has held executive and senior positions in mixed-use real estate development and construction, aviation and aerotropolis hubs, oil and gas, economic zones development and operations, business development and customer experience; working with Abu Dhabi Airports, Dubai Holding, TECOM Investments, Shell and Caltex oil companies.
Ramy is also recognised as a global keynote speaker and expert in his industry and is known for amplifying the importance of innovation and keeping business simple.
